A FORMER Oldham landlady has died at the age of 103.
Bertha Taylor (nee Crowther) died peacefully at her home in Chadderton on January 13.
Bertha, who was coming up to her 104th birthday in June, was raised in the Ordnance Arms in Glodwick and later ran several Oldham pubs after an early career working in restaurants in London and Birmingham. She met and married her husband Leonard when she was 21. The couple had no children.
Bertha’s funeral will be at St James’ Church, Barry Street at 11am on February 5, prior to burial at Chadderton Cemetery.
