FAN for life: Tracey Holmes with her new ink, created at Ink In Tattoos in Huddersfield Road, Oldham
TRACEY Holmes has taken her love for Eighties electro-pop pioneer Gary Numan to ink-redible heights... by getting his face tattooed on her shoulder.
The Chronicle tele-ads clerk decided to make her lifelong passion for the iconic singer permanent.
The Derker mum-of-two first saw him on TV when she was 13: “He was totally different to any other artist. I fell hook, line and sinker.
“We didn’t have Google in those days or CDs so I relied on magazines like Smash Hits and record shops to find out about and obtain his music — not to mention all the posters on my bedroom wall!
Tracey’s addiction waned as she grew up and started a family - but a visit to one of his concerts with her late husband in her forties brought it all back again.
“I would love to meet him and have him see the tattoo and sign it,” she said. “I lost my husband four years ago and Gary’s music and seeing him live has been a great healer.
“Friends and family think I am totally bonkers and know how addicted to Gary I actually am, but none of them are surprised.
