Farewell to former nurse Sadie, 100

A FORMER nurse in the Second World War has died, aged 100.
Sadie Dawson, from Shaw, died peacefully at Shaw Side Nursing Home on Saturday.
One of three siblings, Sadie was born in Yorkshire and came to Oldham as a housekeeper for a doctor and his wife.
She retired in 1980 and moved into Shaw Side Nursing Home just over five years ago, suffering from dementia in her later years. The funeral will be at St Patrick’s RC Church on Thursday
