Man injured in pub assault

A MAN suffered a fractured cheek bone and eye socket after he was punched in an unprovoked attack in a Shaw pub.
The 43-year-old man was attacked in the Pineapple Inn in Rochdale Road on January 20. The victim had been enjoying a night out when an unknown man knocked him unconscious. He was taken to hospital.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
The offender is described as white, about 6ft 4in, of stocky build with short dark hair.
Det Con Leigh Carnally said: “The force of this punch caused the victim to lose consciousness and need hospital treatment
“There are likely to be a lot of potential witnesses, so if you do have information then please call us.”
