OLDHAM Music Centre is hits the high notes this year as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
A two-day celebration of the anniversary will be held on March 14 and 15 at the Lyceum building, featuring a concert by groups made up of current and former students, a gala dinner and a celebration concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. There will also be a display from the centre’s extensive photographic archive.
The event is being managed by Jonathan Leedale, deputy head of the music service.
“This will be a wonderful weekend,” he said. “If any former players would like to come back to play with one of the groups, or just come along, they should contact us.”
