Toxin charge teenager in custody

A 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of attempting to buy a biological toxin online appeared at Tameside Magistrates Court yesterday.
The Mossley teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with trying to buy abrin — similar to ricin — following a raid on Monday by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit.
He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in court on Monday.
