Man critical after three-car smash

A MAN remains in critical condition after a three-car smash in Saddleworth on Saturday.

Emergency services rushed to Huddersfield Road in Diggle following reports of an early-evening collision and the 25-year-old driver of a VW Polo was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The Polo was travelling towards Huddersfield behind a black Mercedes C2220 when the collision occurred. The cars collided with a blue Vauxhall Astra coming towards Oldham. The road remained closed for several hours.
