POLICE are hunting two 12-year-old boys who robbed an elderly woman in Clarksfield in an attack that left her with a broken wrist.
The 86-year-old victim was walking home in New Earth Street last Thursday at 5pm when she was attacked from behind by the two young thugs. One grabbed her handbag and she fell. The children ran off, leaving their victim with a broken left wrist and a graze by her eye. She is recovering slowly.
The suspects are boys aged around 12, of Asian or Eastern European descent. One boy had a “chubby” face and wore a bright blue top. The other boy is taller and slim.
The police are asking witnesses to come forward urgently - particularly one witness who chased the boys after seeing the incident from his car.
Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or anonymously on 0800 555 111.
