PUPILS at Greenfield Primary School got their Red Nose Day fund-raising down to a “T”. They designed their own Red Nose Day T-shirts, held a talent show, had a raffle and sold cakes, biscuits and photographs to raise money for Comic Relief. They also made picture frames for Mother’s Day.
PEOPLE across Oldham put the fun into fund-raising on Red Nose Day to help Comic Relief break the £1 billion barrier on its 30th anniversary.
Schools, colleges, workplaces and other organisations across the borough made thousands of pounds when they held a host of wacky events on Friday.
Cake sales, raffles, non-uniform days and T-shirt making were just some of the things they got up to. They also wore comedy glasses, moustaches and eyebrows — as well and the famous Red Noses — to rise to this year’s theme of making their face funny for money.
The total raised at the end of Red Nose Day was a record £78,082,988.
