Attempted murder arrest

A 49-YEAR-OLD woman is fighting for her life after being stabbed in the chest at a house in Oldham yesterday — and a 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Just before 6.30pm yesterday police were called to Alt Lane in Alt following reports that a woman had been stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The man arrested remains in police custody for questioning.



IN a separate attack, a woman was stabbed in the arm in a street attack in Chadderton yesterday.
The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital, though her injuries are not thought to be serious.

A woman, also aged 32, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and is being questioned in custody.
