Jail warning for thug’s vicious attack on police

A man viciously assaulted three off-duty police officers – two of them man and wife – who had been enjoying a night out in Manchester.
All three were punched in the face. One of the victims said 22-year-old Nathan Christie had behaved like a “rabid dog”.
The male officer had investigated when he saw Christie and his girlfriend arguing in a car park.
Christie sprinted towards the officer, shouted aggressively, hit him in the face and bit his finger.
When the officer’s wife and her female colleague went to help her husband they were both punched in the face. The husband managed to get a choke hold on Christie.
Chrsitie’s attack was described as vicious and unprovoked.
Christie, of Wild Avenue, Oldham, pleaded guilty to assaultand was bailed until April - and warned he could face jail.
Christie said he had a “red mist” and could only recall some of what had happened.
