A STUNNING gallery of images showing the progress of the flagship Old Town Hall development has been released by Oldham Council.
Contractor Morgan Sindall is transforming the historic Grade II listed building into a seven-screen cinema with six restaurants. The scheme will offer a major economic boost to the borough, at the heart of wide-ranging regeneration plans for the town centre.
The building is hidden by hoarding but the new photographs, which can be viewed online, give residents the chance to view the current state of the ambitious project
The pictures show the extent of works required to restore and rebuild the Old Town Hall roof and dome and to brace the interior of the building.
Some of the historic features can also be seen including the Egyptian room, now cleaned prior to a major refurbishment.
Jim McMahon, Oldham Council leader, said: “This is a complex project and this is a great opportunity for the public to see more of the fantastic work going on.”
