OLDHAM’S Integrated Care Centre was evacuated after a suspect package was discovered yesterday.
Police and firefighters quickly attended the building in New Radcliffe Street and the whole building was evacuated as a precaution. The package was found to be harmless.
The staff and patients — who waited outside as the drama unfolded — were allowed back into the centre just after 11am.
Insp Jamie Collins of Oldham Police said: “Staff acted correctly. Anything of this nature must be treated seriously.”
