Ex-Latics player in match-fix plot
Date published: 14 April 2015
A FORMER Oldham Athletic footballer “cast his net around” for players willing to take part in a plot to fix lower league matches, a court has heard.
Striker Delroy Facey (34) allegedly got involved in the “ugly side” of his sport as a middleman for two men already convicted of match fixing.
Facey, who also played for Bolton, West Bromwich Albion and Hull City, denies conspiracy to commit bribery at Birmingham Crown Court, alongside former non-league player Moses Swaibu.
The trial is expected to last three weeks.
