OFFICIALLY open: Niels Bjerre with the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Fida Hussain, and his wife, Tanvir, at the exhibition celebrating Winston Churchill.
A TOURING exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of Winston Churchill’s death has opened at OIdham library.
The display, opened by Mayor of Oldham Councillor Fida Hussain, has been produced by Niels Bjerre from Copenhagen and looks at the former Prime Minister’s leadership of Great Britain during World War Two.
As the town in which he first served as an MP back in 1900, Oldham has long links with Churchill.
Mr Bjerre’s interest was sparked by a visit to the Cabinet War Rooms in London in 1987, which led to him creating his first photographic exhibition looking at the war leader’s life.
The display, the third Mr Bjerre has put together, runs until May 9.
