No action over baby’s death
Date published: 21 April 2015
NO action is to be taken against a woman arrested on suspicion of killing her grandson by lying on him.
The 55 year old was arrested following the death of three-week-old George Charnock in Holts last August.
Police confirmed the woman will face no further action due to insufficient evidence. Paramedics were called to Lychgate Court and took the “unresponsive” child to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The woman was later arrested on suspicion of accidentally smothering the boy while sleeping with him under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
