ATHLETIC’S new North stand - open days
PLANS to switch Latics fans from the Chaddy End — the traditional Boundary Park hotbed for home supporters — to the Rochdale Road Stand have had a mixed response from the club faithful.
The move will see away supporters - currently housed in the Rochdale Road Stand - relocate to the Chaddy End from next season to coincide with the opening of the new North Stand at SportsDirect.com Park. The decision will allow the small section of the Rochdale Road Stand to be turned into a family and community area.
Season ticket prices for the 2015/16 season have been frozen; fans who previously sat in the former Broadway Stand will get priority for seats in the North Stand, which can be reserved from April 27.
“We will be calling the new North Stand conference and hospitality facilities the ‘Oldham Event Centre’, or the OEC,” said chairman Simon Corney.
The club will hold two open evenings, Wednesday, April 29 for fans and Thursday, April 30, for sponsors and interested businesses to see the club’s facilities.
