10 for 10 — new courses to mark UCO anniversary
Date published: 23 April 2015
SPORT and graphic design are among 10 courses unveiled to celebrate the 10th anniversary of University Campus Oldham.
The courses have been specially designed for UCO and almost double the number of courses available.
Eight are new and include a BA (hons) top-up degree in performance as well as foundation degrees in health and social care, sport and exercise, financial and professional services, business management, children and young people, creative media production and graphic design.
Two others — a Higher National Certificate in construction and the foundation degree in performance — are already offered by UCO, but have new course content.
Education company Pearson will validate the construction course while the other nine are validated by Teesside University.
UCO head Debbie Bridge said: “We wanted to create tailored courses that help to bridge the gap between employment and the qualifications achieved by students at schools and colleges in Oldham and across Greater Manchester.”
UCO will now offer 21 degree and HND courses from September, compared to 11 last year, and various teaching diplomas.
