A WATERHEAD care home is celebrating after being named as one of the top 20 in the North-West.
Millfield Care Home, Huddersfield Road, was the 19th most recommended care home in the region and was also named the top home in the borough, according to guide carehome.co.uk.
The award was based on the home’s recommendations from residents, friends and relatives of residents.
The home, which is run by care company Anchor Homes and has facilities for 37 residents, faced competition from 2,042 others in the North-West for its place in the top 20.
Maggie Thomas, Anchor’s manager at Millfield, said: “We never expected this — it was a wonderful surprise.”
