FOUR Oldham beauties have made it into the finals of the Miss Manchester competition.
Friends Bethany Allt and Codie Walker (both 18) from Chadderton, are heading for the prestigious event tomorrow. The former North Chadderton School students will join fellow competitors at the Palace Hotel, where the winner will go into the Miss England finals.
Bethany, who has just returned from travelling around Europe, said: “We would both be over the moon if either of us won. It’s such an amazing experience.”
Jodi Eyre, from Shaw, who is studying for a nursing degree at Manchester Metropolitan University, hopes the experience will lead to some modelling opportunities.
“I was so excited when I found out I was through to the final and really proud,” said Jodi.
“I’m nervous but it will be a good experience. My mum, dad, brother and friends are coming along to support me.”
The Chronicle has also been following student Ellie Darlington (21), from Shaw, on her journey to the final. Ellie, who is studying human biology and infectious diseases at Salford University, decided to enter the competition to help combat a crippling anxiety disorder.
She said: “I’m really starting to beat my condition now so if I can get through this I can get through anything.”
