DESPITE widespread fan condemnation of the appointment of new Athletioc manager Darren Kelly on Monday, not one fan demanded a season ticket refund from chairman Simon Corney yesterday
Corney had set aside two hours in which he offered to personally hand out refunds to whoever wanted one.
But not one fan turned up to claim.
Some expressed disappointment that such an inexperienced man could be appointed. Others complained about his apparent political views on a now-deleted Twitter account.
Only one fan, Bradley Knowles (20) from Greenacres, turned up to talk to the club chairman - and left admitting he felt more confident about Kelly’a appointment.
He said: “I spoke to Simon so I told him everything I was worried about. He put my mind at rest. Darren Kelly is young and inexperienced but I’m willing to give him a go. All managers have to start somewhere.
Corney said he would arrange other meeting times for people who complained they couldn’t get to the morning session.
