Street superslide craze hits town

DIG out your swimwear and prepare to slip-slide through Oldham’s streets as Dr Kershaw’s sets up the town’s first ever outdoor waterslide.
The hospice has arranged for Yorkshire Street to be transformed into a 370ft waterslide on May 30 from 10am to 4pm.
The outdoor waterslide craze began in Bristol last year, when local artist Luke Jerram constructed an outdoor slide from hay bales covered in tarpaulin. The event won nationwide interest and over 96,000 people applied for a ticket.
Arron Cheshire of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “We hope to create a brilliant family day out in the heart of our borough, all while raising money.”
