DELIGHTED . . . Linda Rogers

A DELIGHTED market stall owner has been crowned local Trader of the Year.

Linda Rogers (59), of Hollins, has been involved with Hyde’s Newsagents at Tommyfield indoor market for over 36 years and has owned the stall for four of those.

The Love your Local Market award was presented by outgoing Mayor, Councillor Fida Hussain, and Mayoress Tanvir Hussain, on Saturday in one of his last duties in the role.

Linda said: “I’m really pleased to have won. I have some fabulous customers who have been coming to me for the whole time I’ve been here. They’re more friends than customers now. It’s a pleasure to be here every day.”
