Email allegations passed to police
Date published: 21 May 2015
OLDHAM Council’s chief executive has issued a letter to all councillors saying she has told police about a number of serious allegations.
An anonymous email was sent to Carolyn Wilkins, a number of senior council officers and councillors, making a string of accusations against five Labour members. The allegations relate to drugs, benefit fraud, fraud and harassment.
Mrs Wilkins said: “The email sent on May 6 contained a number of serious allegations.
“This included one allegation that had already been investigated externally and no breach of the code of conduct was found to have taken place.
“I referred this email on to Greater Manchester Police and it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this stage.”
