Search launched for Oldham’s Silver Star talent
Date published: 22 May 2015
ARE you over 60 with an unusual talent?
Can you entertain a room full of people for six minutes?
If you can, Age UK’s Silver Stars contest needs you.
The glitzy competition is on the hunt for acts to perform at this year’s bash on Friday, July 10, at the Coliseum to become Oldham’s Silver Star 2015.
Maggie Hurley, volunteer and community service manager at Age UK Oldham, invites over-60s to become superstars for the day and show off their showbiz talents.
She said: “This year we are looking for variety. We’ve had a few singers in which is great. But what I want is something different.
“Is there an over-60s contortionist in Oldham? If there is, I want to see them.
“I want to see people who can do magic or tell jokes — someone who has a really unusual talent to make it a real variety show.”
Application forms are available from Age UK Oldham, on Church Lane, on a first come, first served basis.
Maggie is also looking for two people to join the judging panel.
Call Maggie on 0161 622 9252.
