Murphy just loves a good chewdunnit

YES, he’s sitting comfortably: Murphy settles down for the next chapter with carer Fliss Lewis.
MURPHY the book-loving bull terrier is desperate for a furrytail ending.
Dogs Trust staff are looking for a special home for the Staffordshire bull terrier, who loves nothing more than a good book.
Which is just as well, because he has become the longest-term resident of the Denton-based centre over the past four months.
Lesley O’Donoghue, deputy manager at the rehoming centre, said they discovered his literary side by chance: “One day he saw one of our canine carers with a book and got really excited, so we sat down and read to him,” said Lesley. “He loved the companionship and immediately relaxed.
“Now we read to him outside when the weather’s good, and he loves going to the staff accommodation and settling down with a treat whilst he enjoys a story. It seems to remind him of being in a loving, cosy home.”
“Before coming to us he had one owner all his life,” added Lesley. “He just misses everything about being in a home, so we’re hoping an experienced owner who loves a good book is out there for him.”
Murphy would best suit an adult-only home, preferably as the only canine pet.
You can find out more about Murphy at www.dogstrust.org.uk. Talk about rehoming him or other dogs at the centre on 0300 303 0292, or visit the centre on Parkway, Denton M34 3SG
