OLDHAM’S Respect our Community Awards has announced funding for 17 Oldham projects.
Thirty-seven groups applied for just over £7,700. A wide range of projects have been supported by the “Rapid ROCA” funding, including children’s outdoor play equipment at Primrose Bank and finance for a second studio for Radio Cavell, the Royal Oldham Hospital’s station.
A well-used bandstand in Grotton will be made safer and new lights will allow year-round use. An historic railway bridge in Chadderton will be decorated with a mural, meanwhile in Shaw, a wetlands area will be developed at Crompton Moor to sustain wildlife and flora.
