FANS have given Gallery Oldham a boost by nominating it for a national award.
A record-breaking 800 museums were nominated for the Daily Telegraph Family Friendly Museum Award - and Gallery Oldham has made it to the last 20.
Dea Birkett, director of Kids in Museums, which runs the award, said: “It’s great that Gallery Oldham has made it to the longlist for the Family Friendly Museum Award — the biggest museum award in Britain and the only one judged by families, so it’s a very special endorsement.
“Gallery Oldham stood out because visitors of all ages said how welcoming it was, how friendly the staff were and what a wide range of things there are to do.”
