Get in the running with 10k Milltown
Date published: 16 June 2015
THE popular Oldham Milltown 10k comes up this weekend.
Now in its third successful year, the race — launched by Oldham Community Leisure in 2013 — is back on Sunday by popular demand.
The route - much flatter than the challenging Oldham Half-Marathon - starts from the town centre and takes runners through Shaw and Royton before returning to the start.
Race organiser Alan Keane, senior health and physical activity development officer at OCL, says: “The Milltown Race Series are fantastic events for local runners and the community as a whole. The 10k is perfect training run for more experienced runners hoping to complete October half-marathon, but it’s also a good opportunity for aspiring runners to raise money for charity and set themselves a challenge.
“We’d love to see as many local people as possible coming out to cheer them along.
There are still places available for last-minute entrants.
