OLDHAM’S Mahdlo Youth Zone is in the running for a share of a new £2.5 million community fund from NatWest Bank.
Members of the public are being invited to vote for their favourite project in the North, with the Egerton Street centre hoping to claim some of the money.
NatWest has received over 1,000 applications for its Skills and Opportunities Fund, and 88 organisations from all over the UK have been shortlisted.
Mahdlo is one of 15 organisations in the north, alongside Sale Sharks Community Trust and Blackburn College, to have made the cut.
The public have until noon on Friday to vote for their favourite project in each of the seven regions.
The results will be combined with those from a judging panel next month to decide which groups receive money.
