TWO upcoming Saddleworth magicians magicked their way to success at a recent competition.

Peter Cholewa (27), from Dobcross, was named overall winner at the Order of the Magi annual close-up magic competition for the second year.

Also competing was Michael Bates (17), from Grotton, who won the Best Card Trick award.

Michael joined the Order when he read about Peter’s win last year.

A spokesman said: “He clearly learns fast, and for someone so young to win a prize is almost unknown in the 106 year history of the society.”
