Man accused of warehouse arson

A MAN has been charged in connection with a fire at a sofa warehouse in Royton.
Christopher Eastham (50) of Kensington Avenue, Royton, is accused of arson and being reckless as to endanger life. He was remanded into custody until today.
Police were called to the Oldham Sofa Company in Holden Fold Lane at 12.35am yesteday following reports of a disturbance. When officers arrived, firefighters were already dealing with a large blaze.
Some residents had to be evacuated from their homes while firefighters brought the fire under control.
