FUN-LOVERS gathered in droves as the Saddleworth Show returned to its roots on Sunday.
This year’s spectacular, organised by Saddleworth and Oldham Metro Rotary clubs, was held at Well-i-hole Farm, Greenfield and though the sky was overcast, rain held off.
Showgoers were treated to a petting zoo, the sound of Dobcross Youth Band and Saddleworth and Oldham Rock Choir as they accompanied the popular duck race on the River Tame, the presence of the Mayor and Mayoress - and “Masterchef” winner Simon Wood - and much more, from chainsaw carving and fly fishing to a cherished-car show and stone carving.
Richard Bartlett, President of Saddleworth Rotary Club, said: “It’s a long running event that is a real community project. It brings people together, not just in Saddleworth, but from across the whole of Oldham.”
