Fanfare for US band

An American brass band named after a famous fictitious area will play at Delph on Sunday.
The Lake Wobegon Brass Band from Anoka, Minnesota, was formed in a coffee house in 1992, named after the familiar stories of lake Wobegon by US humorist Garrison Keillor.
The band’s founders asked Keillor if they could use the name from one of his stories and he agreed - so long as they played their first concert at his garden party.
The band has visited the UK twice before since 2002, mainly around South Wales. Their current tour includes competing in a contest in Brighouse, followed by the concert at Delph Band Club on Sunday from 8pm, admission for which is free.
