Public have say on plan for park

A PUBLIC consultation on a new linear park at the controversial Foxdenton development has provided encouraging results. say organisers.
The 20-acre park would provide a green link between Broadway and Foxdenton Lane. The consultation feedback will help to shape the park.
Landscape contractor TPM Landscape’s director Carl Taylor said: “We intend returning to the community with a plan for their park around September/October. From this we are expecting to make further amendments before submitting the scheme to planning towards the end of the year.”
Residents would prefer a natural approach to the design of the park, with significant interest in incorporating wildlife habitats, the survey revealed. Half of those surveyed rejected the idea of artificial materials and play area equipment. Residents favoured Bank Mill Park, Foxdenton Hollow and Royal Chadderton as names for the new park.
Councillor Dave Hibbert said: “This was a great opportunity to understand what residents want and don’t want from this new park. The majority were extremely positive..”
