Baby, we’re just so proud

HEALTH services and staff at the Royal Oldham Hospital were praised by Oldham’s Mayor and Mayoress as they took their annual tour.

The mayor, Councillor Ateeque Ur-Rehman and mayoress Councillor Yasmin Toor, visited the acute medical unit, the neonatal intensive care unit, post-natal ward and T4 surgical triage unit.

They met staff, parents and babies on the neonatal intensive care unit - one of only three specialist regional high level care neonatal centres.

Councillor Ur-Rehman said: “It’s been absolutely amazing, and an eye-opener. The dedication and commitment of the staff is commendable, I’m lost for words.

“I think the people of Oldham are very lucky to have facilities like this and I have great admiration for the staff and management of this institution.”

The Mayoress added: “I am really very proud because I work for the NHS myself and on this official visit it makes me realise how proud I am and see the work we do and care we provide and that each individual member of staff is 100 per cent committed, well 110 per cent actually.”
