Backing for visitor centre at Dovestone
Date published: 07 July 2015
PUBLIC consultation has favoured a small visitor centre at one of Saddleworth’s best-loved beauty spots.
Two hundred people took part in the RSPB’s public consultation, bringing a centre at the nature reserve and reservoir a step closer.
The centre would have new toilets, a catering area and shelter for visitors. The preferred site is next to Dovestone Sailing Club.
The reservoir is owned by United Utilities but managed by the RSPB, which earlier this year took on management of moorland big enough to fit 1,200 football pitches.
