Freddie’s mascot dream
Date published: 07 July 2015
AN appeal to track down a young Latics fan who wants to be a club mascot has touched the hearts of football fans everywhere.
The fan, known only as Freddie, wrote to Latics saying he wanted to be a mascot so he could go on the pitch and meet the players. But he forgot to sign the letter or give an address
Latics put an appeal on Facebook and Twitter and the #FindFreddie campaign quickly gathered pace gaining retweets from media outlets, football clubs and even the official Football League twitter account.
