Pillow craze warning
Date published: 07 July 2015
A SHAW primary school has warned parents to be more vigilant after a parent caught her child playing a dangerous game.
The parent contacted Rushcroft Primary School after her daughter and her friends played a “game” that involved smothering with a pillow. Letters were sent on the same day to all parents of pupils at the Trent Road school.
Headteacher Jane Sheridan said the stunt had been copied from something online - in which pressure is applied to the face until a vctim passes out.
Mrs Sheridan said: “Nothing happened to the child but the parent wanted to warn us. We asked parents to explain that this is dangerous. I went around classrooms to explain it’s a silly game.
“If parents speak about it it has a lot more clout.”
