Screwdriver attack terror in own home

A TEENAGER was threatened with a screwdriver after a group of men burst into his home.
The 18-year-old was woken by a bang downstairs at his home on Stonesdale Close, Royton.
A man walked into his bedroom and threatened him, telling him to go downstairs. Once there, the man, along with two others searched his house.
Jewellery and personal documents were stolen before all three fled.
Accent
One of the assailants had an Irish accent and it is believed they were seen near to a van on Stonesdale Close.
Detective Constable Ian Lloyd said: “Your own home is where you should feel safe but these men broke in and terrified their victim.
“Although he was not physically hurt, he has been left with mental scars of what happened.”
