Rugby club targeted

FIREFIGHTERS were called to Limeside last night after new seating for the Whitebank Stadium — home to Oldham Rugby League Football Club — was set alight.
Crews arrived at Whitebank Road at around 8.30pm where the seats — which had not yet been fitted — were found ablaze. The new seats had been purchased to improve the matchday experience for Roughyeds fans.
It is believed the blaze was started deliberately. The ground has been targeted by arsonists previously.
Officers from Hollins attended and quickly dealt with the flames.
