Oldham Coliseum: touring theatre network
OLDHAM Coliseum Theatre has joined a consortium of nine regional venues to host a prestigious drama tour.
The Coliseum is working with English Touring Theatre as part of a three year project to tour top-quality classic and contemporary work.
Oldham Coliseum executive director David Martin said: “We’re delighted to have English Touring Theatre join us. They have a magnificent reputation for producing high-quality theatre with real appeal. We’re looking forward to welcoming them.”
The launch of the network has been enabled by a one-off award of £826,786 from Arts Council England and English Touring Theatre.
Rachel Tackley, director of the company, said: “It is clear that there is an appetite for this. It’s a great opportunity for us to make a real impact for a broad range of audiences across the country.”
The first tour gets underway in autumn 2016.
