Suranne Jones: back in the police

GIRL power will be back on the agenda when detective duo Scott and Bailey return to our TV screens.

The crime-fighting duo, played by Lesley Sharp (DC Janet Scott) and Chadderton-born Suranne Jones (DS Rachel Bailey), will star in a three-part special to be filmed in Oldham and Manchester later this year.

The pair will take on a ring of killers who gather online to boast about their crimes.

Suranne’s former “Coronation Street” co-star Sally Lindsay will also return to play her sister Alison.

Executive producer Nicola Shindler said: “We’re delighted to be returning to Scott and Bailey with an investigation that will have everlasting consequences for the characters.

“This series is more ambitious and sinister than ever before and the concept of a three-part story allows us the opportunity to tackle a story of epic scale and ambition”.
