OLDHAM’S former register office is up for auction with a guide price of £500,000.

Metropolitan Place in Hobson Street will go under the hammer on September 10 in the Citizen Suite at Manchester City’s Etihad stadium.

The five-storey, 17,370sq ft town centre building used to be home to civil ceremonies such as weddings and christenings, which now take place at Chadderton Town Hall.
