HAPPIER times . . . fun-loving Tehyah before she was struck down
OLDHAMERS continue to rallyfor a brave five-year-old fighting for her life following a series of strokes that have left her 90 per cent brain damaged.
Tehyah Solan-Clarke was struck by a mystery illness in April 2014, which caused the happy-go-lucky Royton youngster to suffer seven strokes before going into an induced coma after suffering serious brain damage.
After coming out of the coma and enduring several brain operations, Tehyah was sent home in June 2014 to spend what little time doctors believed she had left with parents Sam Solan and Aaron Clarke.
But 18 months later, Tehyah is still fighting strongly, feeding through a tube and receiving oxygen from a machine. Regular events are held in the area to raise funds for her family.
On Sunday afternoon the “Princess Tehyah Summer Spectacular” charity event comes up at Shaw Cricket Club, organised by local student nurse Heidi Shields. Heidi was so touched by Tehyah’s story she does all she can to help. The event will have music, a bouncy castle and inflatable slide, a balloon race and other attractions
