OLDHAMERS are getting on their bikes for a new cycling initiative to promote wellbeing and bring communities together.
Cycle Trek Oldham has been organised by the Coppice Community Alliance and amateur cycling group Inner Quest. Sunday’s event will see participants start at Main Road, Westwood, cycle through Featherstall Road, Rochdale Road, Park Road, Kings Road, Honeywell Lane and Ashton Road.
The route then takes them through Frederick Street, Oxford Street and Block Lane to a finishing at Main Road, where there will be medal presentations after the 10-mile ride.
The event begins at 11am and is expected to finish at 2pm. Around 30 people are expected to take part, and organisers hope it will become an annual event.
