LIFE on two wheels was the focus of a travelling roadshow that stopped in Oldham.
Experts from Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) offered advice on safe cycling, suitable routes across the borough, bike maintenance and free cycling courses. Visitors were given free puncture repair kits, high vis vests and water bottles.
The event, in Albion Street, was part of TfGM’s new “Life On Two Wheels” campaign which urges people to try cycling.
Wayne O’Connor, cycling officer at TfGM, said: “Cycling rates are traditionally quite low in Oldham so it’s important we raise awareness and let people know how easy it is to get started.
“The event in Oldham is part of a long running campaign to get more people cycling, but I think it sells itself. It’s good for you and it saves you money.”
