SLITHERING through Oldham . . . this snake was found in Roundthorn Road
OLDHAM’S animal response unit is sss-earching for the owners of two snakes which escaped their homes and were found slithering around town.
The unit was called to Oldham Road, Failsworth, to reports of a snake seen on top of a car. When they arrived they found the 6ft creature inside the car’s air vents. The non-venomous snake was carefully removed and taken to a local pet store for care until its owner is found.
The unit was called out again to recover a second snake on Roundthorn Road, Clarksfield, at 1am on Friday. The snake, believed to be a non-venomous California Kingsnake, was captured by animal wardens and will also be taken to a local pet store.
If you know who owns either snake, call Oldham Council on 0161-770 2222.
