Hulme ranks 8th in table
Date published: 25 August 2015
HULME Grammar School has been ranked 8th out of Greater Manchester’s 11 independent schools for its A-level results.
It achieves the position for both the average A-level points score per candidate — where an A is worth 140 points, down to 40 for an E — and the combined average A-level and AS-level points score.
Hulme’s figures of 310 and 284 repectively compare with 455 and 407 for top-placed Manchester High School for Girls, according to data from the Independent Schools Council.
The figures do not include qualifications such as BTECs, the International Baccalaureate and the Cambridge Pre-U, which some independent schools take alone or alongside A and AS levels.
