Football tribute to stabbed Tommy

Friends of a teenager stabbed to death in Oldham joined together for a fundraising football match in his memory.
Players, wearing shirts printed with Tommy Bilton’s picture took to the football fields at Limeside Park for the friendly match against Limeside FC, which aimed to raise as much money as possible for Tommy’s funeral. Tommy died in hospital after being found with stab wounds on Ashton Road on August 15,.
Match organiser and Tommy’s close friend, Brandon Davies, said: “The football event went really well. It was a great way to remember him; a lot of people turned out to support it.”
The match should have raised everal hundred pounds for the fund, to be added to £300 raised at another event earlier in the day.
